FRED Beach Action Group Zetland March 2015

A beautiful morning in Redcar beach albeit very blustery. Great spirit though from our regulars and some new faces too.

25 hardy souls clean the beach. Age range from 2years to 82years old. All dug in against a challenging wind and collected up over 20 bags of litter and debris scattered across our fabulous beach.

Today we had 8 children who know they have an important part to play and who take ownership over caring for their home. Community pride begins at childhood and this education lasts a lifetime.

We started from the Touchstone roundabout and worked our way down to the Regent Cinema. In just over an hour we were as good as finished.

Thank you guys. You embody the community spirit that is alive and well in Redcar - Thank you too to Neil Baldwin for purchasing bag hoops and bringing them along.

*** ATTENTION ***
We are currently organising a litter pick for Coatham Marshes for 15th March 2015 beginning at 10am with Zetland Pride and Friends of Dormanstown. We hope to get over 100 volunteers out to show our local authorities that "We care about our home. Littering and fly tipping in our public areas is unacceptable"

We will get support from Keep Britain Tidy, the Probation Service, RCBC, Tees Valley Wildlife Trust and 1st Choice Skips.
